How Safe is the UKs Roads
Driving a car is not brain science and it's something that everyone can do once they have had the lessons. But after touring with the world I do think that the UK has some of the best drivers. The reason for saying this is because to get a licence in the UK is becoming more and more difficult. The theory tests have become a lot harder and the practical test is now more difficult then ever.
But it's not just about the way you learn to drive. In England there are a huge amount of rules that must be obeyed to protect both drivers and the public. On my travels I came across places that drive terribly.
For example I went into a taxi to bring me to the hotel and the taxi drives so close to the back of other cars that it was a very scary experience; if anyone of the cars in front had to press the brakes then we would have been in terrible trouble. Besides from that it's also like the drivers cannot drive in a direct line, they sway to the left and too the right and even drive on the hard shoulder, which if again done in England, you would be in huge trouble by the authorities.
Although there are a lot of new cars in other countries, again what I do not see is any road tax or MOT certificates, it’s like any type of vehicle can be driven on the roads even if they are potentially very dangerous.
So as a conclusion I do actually believe that the UK does in fact have some of the best drivers around, not because of their talent but simply because of the countries rules and regulations.
